Weitere Informationen

This course is the second of seven in the Information Systems curriculum. The purpose of the course is to build on the skills acquired in the prerequisite course, Computer Business Applications I, through the manipulation of word processing, spreadsheet, database management, and graphics software. An overview of the course sets forth the condition and performance standard for each of the five task areas in the course. These components are provided for each task area: behavioral objective, suggested teaching strategies, content, and summary. Topics covered include concepts, terminology, and components of professional workstations; hands-on operational knowledge of software and oral and written evaluations; factors to consider when comparing and evaluating computer equipment hardware and software; evaluation of and oral reports on a variety of hardware and software; and evaluation of a specific case study related to recommendations for office automation tools. A glossary of software terminology follows task area 2. Appendixes include visuals (transparencies and other teacher materials), student materials (student handouts, work sheets, and exercise materials), evaluation (end-of-task and end-of-unit questions, test items, etc.), and references (including an eight-page bibliography, articles, and resources).
