Researchers at Queen Mary College, University of London, have developed a way to identify people by the way they use a computer mouse. The technique could be used to verify users' identities when shopping online or transferring documents. Using a neural network, Ross Everitt and Dr. Peter McOwan from Queen Mary developed the system that learns movements of the mouse that are unique to individual users. The software works with Java-enabled Web browsers.
