Treffer: Virtual Reality in Hiring: Opportunities, challenges, and Sustainability-Oriented Innovation adoption.
Weitere Informationen
This study explores the adoption of virtual reality (VR) hiring as an innovation management tool, addressing the limitations of current hiring practices in fairness and predictive validity. VR hiring offers immersive, datadriven simulations to assess candidates, reducing bias and enhancing decisionmaking. Despite its potential, empirical research on VR hiring is limited. Using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this study investigates determinants of VR hiring adoption, focusing on perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU). Surveys of recruiters (N=345) and candidates (N=712) reveal distinct perceptions of VR hiring among recruiters and candidates, influenced by demographic and psychological factors. Findings highlight the importance of predictive validity, immersive experience, ethical use and managing resistance to change. Practical implications include designing recruitment strategies tailored to different segments. This research contributes methodologically, theoretically, and empirically to understanding and promoting sustainability-oriented innovations (SOI) by offering insights into VR hiring adoption and its role in fostering an innovation-oriented culture.
