This article introduces a novel concept for sustainable high-performance computing (HPC) by integrating datacenters (DCs) directly into wind turbines (WTs), forming “green HPC-DCs” powered by on-site renewable energy. This architecture addresses challenges related to rising IT power demand, grid instability, and power curtailment by making HPC systems flexible energy consumers that adapt to wind energy availability. The proposed system requires sophisticated energy- and thermal-aware control models, optimized datacenter placement, and multi-criteria scheduling to balance performance with sustainability. A life-cycle assessment and green service-level agreements (greenSLAs) are also discussed as essential components for ensuring environmental and economic viability throughout the system’s operation.
