This article features a new version of the OrindaBuild Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) access code generator launched by Dublin, Ireland-based Orinda Software Ltd. OrindaBuild version 5.0 has been designed to generate Java source code that bridges the gap between the existing Oracle database applications of users and web service toolkits such as Apache Axis. It examines the data dictionary of Oracle and automatically generates the Java source code needed by Web Service applications that use procedural language/structured query language (PL/SQL) procedures and SQL statements to access Oracle databases. OrindaBuild is a Java application that generates Java source code to run PL/SQL procedures and SQL statements in Oracle databases. OrindaBuild requires minimal configuration and produces human readable Java. It does not require database modifications or the use of a precompiler.
