Treffer: Fracture analysis of edge-cracked FGM plate with thermo-mechanical loadings using XFEM.
Weitere Informationen
AbstractIn this study, the Normalized Stress Intensity Factors (SIFs) and crack growth analysis of functionally graded material (FGM) with cracks are presented using the Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM) under thermal and thermo-mechanical loadings. Edge-cracked plate under thermo-mechanical loading at the tips of the crack, stress field is created, which causes the failure of the FGMs plate due to sudden breakage, and also affects the human life and cost of the machinery. This study investigates edge-cracked FGM plates with material properties varying along the plate’s width under thermo-mechanical loading. Multi-edge fractured FGM plates under thermo-mechanical loadings have also been addressed in the present work. Some comparative study is carry-out for uni-directional and bi-directional material distribution model for edge crack under thermo-mechanical loadings with different crack length and crack angles. To validate the current code, simulation results are compared with the published findings in the literature using MATLAB 2015. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
