Medical imaging plays a fundamental role in modern healthcare. However, transmitting these images over public networks across dispersed regions poses significant security challenges, including authentication, integrity, and confidentiality. This paper focuses on enhancing the confidentiality and integrity of medical images. We employ the robust AES for image encryption, and to increase security even more, we introduce Spread Spectrum Steganographyto hide the encrypted medical image within a cover image, creating a stegoimage. This combined approach enhances the system's resilience against potential attackers. The implementation uses Python, a widely adopted language for image processing and cryptography. Empirical results demonstrate the effectiveness of this AES encryption and Spread Spectrum Steganography approach compared to steganography alone, as evidenced by key evaluation metrics such as MSE, PSNR, and information entropy. This approach significantly contributes to the security of sensitive medical data, ensuring its confidential transmission across geographical boundaries. Addressing authentication, integrity, and confidentiality challenges, this paper presents a robust solution for securing medical image transmission using Python. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
