Further Information

The security protocol for encryption and authentication in the IoT is Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS). Encryption of data plays an essential role in this protocol. The current communication technologies have some problems related to providing secure communication between edges in the network of Internet of Things (IoT), the modern security mechanisms require the power of its to resist various potential attacks. Therefore, due to the recent growth of development in quantum computing, we enhance the DTLS standard protocol by change the classical algorithm for key exchange to using quantum protocol BB84 for generate a new key exchange and proposed (Quantum-DTLS) protocol for secure data transfer in the IoT with CoAP protocol. The results of the conducted simulation and numerical analyses represent the key length and percentage about (70-80)% from the generated bits to increase the security of data in IoT based on the properties of the quantum, maintain the power consumption in the IoT node, keeping the throughput of a packet by 10% more of DTLS in the network.
